17 Days Mount Kilimanjaro and Serengeti Safari takes you on hiking adventure along the majestic Mountain Kilimanjaro and Wildlife Safari at Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater.

Detailed Itinerary of the 17 Days Mount Kilimanjaro and Serengeti Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Airport then transfer to Arusha

You shall drop at the Kilimanjaro International Airport where you are welcomed by a driver guide who takes you through a meet and greet session then later he shall transfer you in Arusha to check-in lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Arusha Safari Lodge.

Day 2: Drive to Machame Gate; trek to Machame Camp (3,010m)

Have breakfast in the morning then embark on journey to the starting point at the base of the Mountain (Machame Gate). You shall drive for a period of one and a half hours then when you reach here, you are briefed about the whole hike to the highest point of the Mountain (Uhuru Peak) then later, you shall be allocated into groups with lead rangers to start the hike. Follow through verdant green vegetation, rainforest and relatively steep routes watching the colobus monkeys, bird species and flora. After a period of 5 to 7 hours, you shall reach Machame Camp and rest then have Dinner and Overnight.

Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp (3,750m)

Breakfast in the morning then embark on hike for a period of 4 to 6 hours. You follow through moorland, heather zones trekking up a steep ridge above the forest canopy as you enjoy views of the prominent Mount Meru. You shall later reach Shira Plateau then Shira Camp for acclimatization. After relaxing, you shall have Dinner and Overnight. Shira Camp.

Day 4: Shira Camp to Lava Tower; descend to Barranco Camp (3,960m)

Delicious breakfast in the morning then embark on transfer from Shira Camp to the Lava Tower for a period of 6 to 8 hours. You follow through the Alpine Desert climbing towards the Lava Tower where you go through acclimatization. Break off for lunch at the tower then later descend to Barranco Camp passing through stunning valleys watching the great Barranco Wall a very exceptional region to explore while on hike to Uhuru Peak. You shall break off for Dinner and Overnight at the Barranco Camp.

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp (4,640m)

Early morning breakfast then embark on hike/trek for a period of 7 to 8 hours through the alpine desert. Follow through steep slippery routes ascending the Barranco Wall which is very deep requiring you to be determined and fit to conquer it. You shall follow through alpine desert terrain landscapes viewing the summit glaciers. You shall later reach Barafu Camp where you relax, then later have Dinner and Overnight. Barafu Camp.

Day 6: Midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895m); descend to Millennium Camp (3,820m)

You shall relax the whole day as you view the peaks at a distance then later at mid night, you shall wake up at mid night enjoy breakfast then at mid night or 2:00 am you shall proceed on hike to the summit (Uhuru Peak). With your ranger guides, follow through steep slippery routes heading to the summit for a period of 6 to 8 hours. The night hike is quite challenging so you have to be so determined to get to Uhuru. As it comes to Day light, you shall watch the sun rise as it refracts along the snow then later you shall reach Uhuru Peak the highest point along Mountain Kilimanjaro. After reaching here, you shall gather with your fellow hikers and take many photos to keep with you about reaching the highest point in Africa.

After taking many photos, you shall embark on descent for a period of 5 to 7 hours to Barafu Camp. On reaching here, you shall rest, relax then have refreshments. Later on, proceed downwards till you reach the Millennium Camp for overnight rest. Tents at Millennium Camp.

Day 7: Descend to Mweka Gate; transfer to Arusha

Enjoy breakfast then embark on trek for a period of 4 to 5 hours through Moorland to rainforest to the Mweka Gate (1,640m). You shall reach the Mweka Gate where you congratulate each other then receive your summit certificate at the gate. Afterwards, you shall get to your 4×4 vehicle to transfer back to Arusha to check-in lodge for relaxation, dinner and Overnight. Arusha Safari Lodge.

Day 8: Rest day in Arusha

Have leisure breakfast then relax at your hotel/ lodge. You shall hang around the hotel/ lodge then later you will enjoy Dinner and Overnight. Arusha Safari Lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Arusha National Park (Game Drive)

Early morning breakfast then transfer to the famous Arusha National Park located a few kilometers off the busy town of Arusha. You shall reach the Park and enjoy a Game Drive watching various wildlife animals wandering around their natural vegetation habitat. The wildlife animals you watch include; giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, leopards, hippos, and primates like black-and-white colobus monkeys and blue monkeys etc. After the Game Drive, you shall proceed to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Day 10: Transfer to Tarangire National Park (Game Drive)

Breakfast in the morning then transfer to Tarangire National Park for a period of 2 to 3 hours watching the green terrain, bird species etc. After a while, you shall reach the park and embark on a Game Drive as you traverse from one point to another watching various wildlife animals wandering around their natural habitat. The wildlife animals you watch include; giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, leopards, hippos etc. Take many photos to keep with you then after a while, you shall get to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Day 11: Full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park

Early morning breakfast then transfer to enjoy a Full Day Game Drive with packed lunch. You shall get to the park early at 6:30 am and when you reach here, traverse from one point to another looking out for early morning riser wildlife animals like lions, leopards, cheetah etc. You shall traverse from one point to another watching other wildlife animals like giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, leopards, hippos etc. After the morning session, break off for lunch at mid day then later continue on another session which takes you till late evening. Day 12: Transfer to Serengeti National Park (Evening game drive)

Morning breakfast then embark on transfer to Serengeti National Park for a period of 5 to 7 hours. En-route, have views of the green terrain, bird species as well as lunch. Then after, you shall reach the park and enjoy a Game Drive watching many wildlife animals wander around their natural habitat. The wildlife animals you watch include; lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, hippos, and cheetahs etc. You shall also watch various species of birds i.e over 500 species. Day 13: Full Day Game drives in Serengeti

Day 14: Another Full day Game Drive in Serengeti

Breakfast then embark on another Full Day Game Drive in the park. You shall transfer with packed lunch. Get to the park early at 6:30 am and when you reach here, traverse from one point to another looking out for early morning riser wildlife animals like lions, leopards, cheetah etc. You shall traverse from one point to another watching other wildlife animals like giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, leopards, hippos etc. After the morning session, break off for lunch at mid day then later continue on another session which takes you till late evening. Day 15: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Olduvai Gorge

Morning breakfast then embark on journey to the famous Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You shall transfer for a period of 1 to 2 hours watching the green terrain, bird species until you get here. On reaching the Conservation Area/Crater you shall have a Game Drive around the Crater. Traverse from one point to another watching various wildlife animals around the Crater. The wildlife animals you watch include; lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas, jackals, and cheetahs and various bird species. After the Game Drive, you shall continue to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Ngorongoro Lodge.

Day 16: Full-day game drive in Ngorongoro Crater

Enjoy breakfast then proceed a Full Day Game Drive in the park. You shall transfer with packed lunch. Get to the park early at 6:30 am and when you reach here, traverse from one point to another looking out for early morning riser wildlife animals like lions, leopards, cheetah etc. You shall traverse from one point to another watching other wildlife animals like giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, leopards, hippos etc. After the morning session, break off for lunch at mid day then later continue on another session which takes you till late evening. Day 17: Departure to Kilimanjaro Airport

Breakfast at leisure then with all your luggage, embark on departure to the Kilimanjaro International Airport to board a flight back home.
