Detailed Itinerary of the 10 Days Self Drive Safari in Kenya
Day 1: Arrival to Nairobi
Arrive to the beautiful city of Nairobi for the preparation of your 10 days self-drive safari for in the mighty country. The company representative will be waiting for you at the airport so as to handle to you the vehicle to use during the safari and also give you some briefing about the journey as well as the terms and conditions of the company car rental agreement. On this first day, you will drive to the booked hotel for an overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Naivasha
Wake up for your early morning breakfast and start off your journey to Lake Naivasha which takes a drive of about 2 hours from Nairobi. Lake Naivasha is a fresh water lake located in the town of Naivasha in Nakuru County lying northwest of Nairobi. The lake is known for attracting various bird species which are over 400 in number. Also, the lake is a home to a sizable population of hippos. At the lake, enjoy a boat ride on the peaceful waters as you watch numerous bird shores around the shores. Day 3: Transfer to Lake Nakuru national park
After your early morning breakfast, transfer to Lake Nakuru national park with your packed lunch. The national park was established in 1961 around the alkaline lake of Nakuru close to Nakuru town. The lake is best known for its thousands and millions of flamingos that nest along the lake shores which even make the lake turn to pink color. The park also offers a splendid view of several wildlife species including the black and white rhinos, the big cats, and many others expect the elephants.

Day 4: Transfer to Hells Gate national park
Have your early morning breakfast and proceed to Hells gate national park for game viewing experience. The park lies south of Lake Naivasha in northwestern region of Kenya. Named after a narrow break in the cliffs, the small park is known for its wide variety of wildlife. During your visit in the park, enjoy a game drive exercise in the park plains and watch different animals including lions, leopards, African buffalos, zebras, elands, hartebeests, and cheetahs. Also, take part in nature walks and spot beautiful and colorful bird species like vultures, augur buzzards, hyraxes and others. From the game drive, proceed to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.

Day 5: Drive to Masai Mara national reserve
In the early morning, wake up for your delicious breakfast and check out of the lodge for your journey to Masai Mara national reserve. The drive from Hells Gate national park to Masai Mara national park takes about 5 hours. Contiguous with Serengeti national park, Masai Mara national reserve is one of the largest reserves in Kenya known for hosting one of the world’s natural wonders- the great migration which involves the flock of over million wildebeests, gazelles and zebras in the months of July to September when the animals cross from Serengeti national park of Tanzania. You will have an enroute lunch and reach at the lodge in evening hours. Check in and have some relaxation at the lodge as you wait for dinner.

Day 6: Full day game drive in the reserve
Have your early morning breakfast and go for a full day game drive with your packed lunch in search of different wildlife species including the Africa’s big five. Among the animals in the reserve include African elephants, leopards, lions, African buffalo, warthogs, wildebeests, hartebeest, zebras, elands, gazelles, and many others. During the evening hours, spot several predators like lions, hyenas, cheetahs and many others. Drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 7: Morning game drive and an evening village walk
Wake up early so as to catch the beautiful sunrise in the bush as your prepare for a game drive after your delicious breakfast. Drive to the savannah plains of the reserve and spot the early hunters searching for their prey. In the morning game drive, expect to spot animals like lions, African elephants, hartebeests, hyenas, cheetahs and many others. You will also watch numerous Nile crocodiles along the shores of River Mara which million animals cross during the great migration. From game viewing, drive back to the lodge for lunch and then go for a village walk in Masai village.
During the village walk, get a chance to interact with the Masai people who are the ancestral inhabitants of the area. In the process, learn more about their cultural beliefs, traditions and ways of life. Get entertained by them through dances, songs, storytelling, poems and many others. From here, walk back to the lodge for dinner and overnight retire.

Day 8: Drive to Amboseli national park
Wake up early and prepare for a long drive of about 9 hours from Masai Mara national reserve to Amboseli national park. The national park is located in Kajiado south constituency characterized by swamp marshland, acacia woodlands and thorny bush. Amboseli national park is a home to several wildlife species including lions, African elephants, African buffalo, zebras, wildebeests, leopards, hyenas, and many others. Also, the national park is known for offering beautiful views of the highest free standing mountain – Mount Kilimanjaro. Expect to have an enroute lunch and reach the lodge during late evening hours. Day 9: Full day game drive in the park
Have your early morning breakfast and go for a game drive in the plains of the park. Amboseli national park is known for hosting large herds of elephants and many other animals like lions, African buffalos, leopards, hyenas, and others. In the afternoon, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch as you prepare for an evening game drive. The evening game drive will expose you to nocturnal games like hyenas, cheetahs and others. From there, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight
