Malindi Marine National Park
Malindi Marine National Park, established in 1968, is Kenya’s first marine protected area and one of Africa’s oldest marine parks. Located approximately 118 km north of Mombasa, near the town of Malindi, this UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is renowned for its rich biodiversity and vibrant coral reefs.
What to See and Do
The park spans about 6 square kilometers and encompasses diverse marine ecosystems, including fringing reefs, coral gardens, seagrass beds, mangroves, and mudflats. Visitors can engage in various activities such as:

How to Get There
By Road
Approximately 110 km north of Mombasa. Hence can be accessed by use of car/ vehicle which gets you here.
By Air
You shall fly into Malindi Airport, which offers daily scheduled flights from Mombasa, Nairobi, and Lamu.
By Rail
Take the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) from Nairobi or Mombasa to Miritini, then connect to Malindi by road.
Best Time to Visit the Park
The park is open year-round. However, the high season (July to March) offers clearer waters and better visibility for diving and snorkeling. From June to September, you might witness the migration of humpback whales.
