Rwenzori Mountains National Park derives its name from the Rwenzori Mountains or mountains of the Moon ! it lies along the Uganda – Democratic Republic of Congo borders stretching through the districts of Bundibugyo, Kabarole, Kasese close to Queen Elizabeth National Park and is the third highest mountain in Africa after Kilimanjaro Mountains and Mount Kenya. Rwenzori Mountains National Park was established in 1991 is governed by Uganda wildlife Authority and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 because of its stunning natural scenery.
